It may be advisable, however, to seek professional advice if the horses involved are very high value or the arrangement is particularly complex or unusual.

While you may use a purchased template as many times as you wish, please be aware that the law can change and render a template out of date. Please note, too, that copyright for the documents remains with Equine Legal Solutions – so you cannot sell them or share them amongst friends.
 

Will a contract guarantee that the agreement won’t turn sour?

Sadly, no. Friends can fall out, circumstances can change and disputes can arise when those involved fail to adhere to responsibilities they agreed to. The good news is that many minor issues can be solved if each party simply refers back to the original written agreement. In the unlikely event that things get complicated and legal action is necessary, the presence of a written agreement will prove invaluable.
 

Can I amend the document to suit my circumstances?

The documents cannot be amended before printing, so as to retain the integrity of the legal advice they contain. Trying to create or edit your own document, as a non-lawyer, could have disastrous consequences. After printing you can, however, fill in your specific details and complete any schedules to tailor the document to your needs.
 

How do I buy a contract template?

Buying a contract template is fast, easy and secure. Simply select your document and add it to your ‘basket’, before logging into your account (or creating a new one if you’re a new customer). Once you’ve paid for the document, using a secure credit card transaction, you will be redirected to the ‘order history’ area of your account where you’ll see this purchase and any previous orders ready to download and save. Finally, simply print off your document – it’s ready for completion.
 

Can I see or preview the document before I buy?

We don’t publish our documents in full for preview, because that would allow people to copy them without buying them. You can, however, view a comprehensive list of the contents of each by clicking on the relevant document heading.
